How can I add and manage participation scores for my students?

In this article, we'll cover two ways to add and manage participation score for your students.

The features mentioned in this article are only available to Teachers on paid subscriptions.

Participation scoring is the metric used to assess a student's active involvement and engagement during sessions. The aim is to submit a participation score during or after each lesson, so that at the end of the semester, course, or year you can assign an accurate final grade. Participation scoring only works with students who are part of a class.

This article is composed of two sections:

  1. Adding participation scores during a lesson

  2. Managing participation scores in Class Management

Adding participation scores during a lesson

After enrolling a class into a lesson:

  1. Locate the pen icon below Enroll Students in the action bar.

  2. Click the pen icon next to the student's name to open the scoring pop-up.
    1. Enter a number from 0 to 100 based on the student's participation in the current lesson.
    2. Click OK to save the score.

Students do not see the pop-up, so scores can be entered during the lesson without interruption.

A grey pen indicates that the student has not yet received a participation score. A green pen indicates that a participation score exists from a previous lesson.

Managing participation scores in Class Management

Participation scores can also be viewed and updated in Class Management.

  1. Start in Student Management.

  2. Click the arrow next to the class name to open Class Management.

  3. Click the participation score next to each student's name to add or adjust their score.
