Participation scoring is the metric used to assess a student's active involvement and engagement during sessions. The aim is to submit a participation score during or after each lesson, so that at the end of the semester, course, or year you can assign an accurate final grade. Participation scoring only works with students who are part of a class.
After enrolling a class into a lesson, access the participation score under 'Enroll Students' in the bottom left of the screen, below the teacher notes
Click the pen to open a pop-up window to add or adjust the score
The pen icon opens the participation scores. Clicking a green pen shows the score from the previous lesson, which you can leave the same or adjust. A grey pen shows that the student has yet to receive a score. Scores can be added, adjusted, and deleted multiple times. The pen icon remains grey for no score and green if a score has been given.
- Score: Enter a score from zero to one hundred, based on the student participation in the current lesson
- OK: click OK to save the score
Note: Students won't be able to see the pop-up or scoring input, so these can easily be added during the session.
Participation scores can also be managed in Class Management
Start in Student Management and click the arrow to open class management
In Class Management, participation scores are displayed directly to the right on the student’s name. Click the score next to the student's name to add or alter the score
- Student Name: Names of students in this class
- Participation: Column showing participation of all students, scored from zero to one hundred
- Class Average: Average participation for this class
- Submit: Participation scores can be altered here, and the class average will be updated
