How can I take, view, edit, or delete notes on my students?
In this article, we'll cover how to take, view, edit, and delete notes attached to your students.

Flexible note-taking tools that help you track student progress and plan your next lessons. Keeping notes is a great way to leave yourself reminders of what was covered and what to do next — especially if you're juggling multiple students or classes.
Notes are only visible to teachers. If you want to leave messages for students, use the Canvas instead.
This article is comprised of two sections:
Taking Notes on Students
You can take notes in two main places:
1. During a live lesson

In the bottom-left of the lesson a list of enrolled students appears:
- Use the small notepad icon next to each student's name to record individual notes (e.g. "Mary still struggles with the 'th' sound." or "Ali needs to review conditionals.")

In the Actions Bar below the lesson:

Use the yellow Take Notes tab for notes that apply to all students in the classroom (e.g. “Stopped at Slide 9” or “Assigned extra writing homework”)

Use the small notepad icon next to each student's name to record individual notes (e.g., Mary still struggles with the "th" sound or Ali needs to review conditionals).
In the Actions Bar below the lesson, the yellow Take Notes tab is available for notes that apply to all students in the classroom (e.g., Stopped at Slide 9 or Assigned extra writing homework).
2. In the Student Management Panel

Go to Student Management and click on a student’s name.

On the student page:

Click New Note at the top center of the page, next to the student's name, to write a new entry.

Save your note when done.

Pin important notes to keep them first.

Scroll right or use arrows to view older notes.

If more than one teacher is assigned to the student, toggle the shield icon to make a note private (so only you can view it).

Viewing, Editing, and Deleting Notes
You can manage notes in the same two places:
A. During a live lesson

Click the yellow notepad icon next to the enrolled student's name, under the lesson slides.

In the pop-up window, you can:

Edit and save notes

Delete notes
-
Pin notes
-
Make notes private (if the student is shared with other teachers)

B. In the student’s profile

Go to Student Management, click a student’s name

Notes are located top and center
-

From there, you can:

Edit or delete existing notes
-
Pin important ones
-
Toggle privacy settings (if needed)
