How can I assign a unit check?

In this article, we'll cover two ways to assign a unit check to your students.

The features mentioned in this article are only available to Teachers on paid subscriptions.

Unit checks are summative assessments that are taken at the end of each unit in a progressive curriculum. They consist of 20, 30, or 50 questions and assess a student’s understanding of the key vocabulary and grammar covered in that unit.

Unit checks help you monitor your students' progress at regular intervals. The results show you where your students need more practice so you can help them progress.

It’s best to teach and assign homework for each lesson in the unit before assigning the unit check.

There are two ways to assign a Unit Check:

  1. At the end of a lesson
  2. Anytime from a student's profile

Assign a Unit Check at the end of a lesson

  1. At the end of teaching the last lesson in a unit, with students enrolled, on the bottom right, click the purple 'Close Classroom' button. You'll be prompted to assign the homework and unit check.
  2. Both the homework and unit check are assigned by default. If you want to change the assignments, use the checkbox next to any student's name.
  3. On the bottom right, click the blue 'Assign Selected Items' button

Assign a Unit Check from a student's profile
