Additional Unit Checks
Status: ✅ Launched: February 3, 2025
Overview
Unit checks for all units of Foundational Literacy, Core Curriculum, and Business English
Why
This update brings consistency to the assessment system, addressing feedback from Off2Class users who noticed some lesson series had both homework and unit checks (Step-by-Step Curriculum, Schools Curriculum) while others only included homework (Foundational Literacy, Core Curriculum, Business English). These new unit checks not only standardize assessment across lessons in the Off2Class Lesson Library but also provide valuable data points to track student progress and performance in keeping with our focus on data-driven instruction in 2025.
Standalone Lesson Refresh
Status: 🔁 In Progress (ETA: Ongoing throughout ‘25 and ‘26)
Overview
Major updates to our standalone lessons, including a visual refresh, more relevant content, and new skills-based tasks.
Why
Standalone lessons are among our most popular lessons for teachers worldwide. This comprehensive refresh ensures they deliver maximum educational value for our diverse international teaching community by providing updated content, improved visual design, and enhanced pedagogical features. Here is a sneak peek at a few examples.
Writing Auto-Scoring
Status: ✅ Launched: December 2, 2025
Overview
Automatic scoring for all free-text written responses in homework assignments.
Why
We founded Off2Class to save teachers time. This new feature makes grading written homework faster, easier, and more consistent by automatically evaluating student responses. Teachers can still review and adjust scores and feedback as needed.
Teacher Guides
Status: ✅ Launched: November 5, 2025
Overview
Detailed lesson companions that help teachers adapt Off2Class lessons with scaffolding, differentiation, and engagement strategies, saving prep time and simplifying delivery.
Why
Teachers already value Off2Class for its low-prep lessons. Teacher Guides build on that strength by bringing scaffolding, differentiation strategies, and engagement tools together in one place. This helps educators adapt lessons more easily, save time on planning, and deliver dynamic, student-focused instruction.
Adaptive Placement Test (Grammar & Reading)
Status: 🧪 In Beta Private Beta (Public Launch ETA: December '25)
Overview
A shorter, more user-friendly placement test that’s appropriate for students of all levels. The core test focuses on grammar, with a reading test offered as an optional add-on assessment. The adaptive technology adjusts question difficulty based on student responses, significantly reducing testing time while delivering more accurate proficiency measurements. Teachers can now evaluate specific skills independently without requiring students to complete the entire assessment battery.
Why
We created our current placement test many years ago, and while it has served us well, Off2Class has expanded significantly since then. As a result, the test no longer accurately reflects the needs of our user base. This new adaptive test format provides a better experience for both students and teachers by offering focused skill assessment options and more accurate placement results in a shorter time.
Real-time Interactive Teaching Aid (RITA)
Status: 🧪 In Private Beta (Public Launch ETA: Ongoing throughout ‘25 and ‘26)
Overview
An intelligent teaching tool that helps teachers personalize their Off2Class experience. This tool will be able to locate specific lessons, align content with curriculum standards, create additional practice activities, and produce student handouts.
Why
Off2Class was built to save teachers time, and this teaching aid takes that mission even further. Whether it’s finding targeted lessons, aligning to curriculum standards, or generating printable lesson supplements, this tool will make it easier than ever to adapt Off2Class for any teaching approach or environment.
UX Redesign
Status: 📅 Planned (ETA: Q4 '25)
Overview
A new, intuitive interface will make student data more accessible and easier to use and translate into instructional decisions.
Why
Clear progress tracking empowers better teaching decisions. The redesigned platform consolidates key information in an accessible format, making it simple to identify student needs, personalize instruction, and group students effectively. This consolidation eliminates the need for manual tracking and data management, freeing up teachers to focus on delivering effective instruction. By combining student performance insights with streamlined planning tools, Off2Class delivers powerful support for data-driven instruction.
Adaptive Placement Test (Listening & Writing)
Status: ▶️ In Progress (ETA: Q4 '25)
Overview
An enhanced version of our new Adaptive Placement Test will incorporate additional skill assessments in listening and writing. The new interface will allow teachers the flexibility to assign any combination of these sections to evaluate their students. For instance, teachers can choose to assess writing skills independently without requiring tests in other areas.
Why
Based on teacher feedback requesting shorter and more targeted testing options, this adaptive test makes assessment more flexible and practical. The modular approach lets educators focus on specific skills or conduct complete placement tests, adapting seamlessly to different teaching needs and situations.
Adaptive Placement Test (Speaking)
Status: 📅 Planned (ETA: Q1 '26)
Overview

The new interface will allow teachers the flexibility to assign any combination of listening, reading, writing, speaking and grammar to evaluate their students. For instance, teachers can choose to assess speaking skills independently without requiring tests in other areas.
Why
Based on teacher feedback requesting shorter and more targeted testing options, this adaptive test makes assessment more flexible and practical. The modular approach lets educators focus on specific skills or conduct complete placement tests, adapting seamlessly to different teaching needs and situations.
Speaking Auto-Scoring
Status: 📅 Planned (ETA: First half of 2026)
Overview
Automatically score and provide feedback for spoken responses in homework assignments.
Why
To further deliver on our promise to save teachers time, we are streamlining the homework grading process with our new auto-scoring feature. This feature will provide fair, fast, and consistent scoring of speaking assignments. As always, teachers will retain the ability to manually review and update scores and feedback at any time.
