Lesson length and structure

Most Off2Class lessons are designed to take approximately 45–60 minutes to complete. Actual lesson time varies depending on:

  • student proficiency level
  • class size
  • pacing and discussion time
  • whether homework or extension activities are included

Most lessons contain between 15 and 25 slides.

Lessons for lower-level learners often contain more slides with smaller amounts of information per slide. This provides additional repetition, guided practice, and scaffolded support for beginner students.

Lessons are designed to be flexible. Teachers can:

  • move through slides more quickly
  • spend additional time on discussion or review
  • skip activities when appropriate
  • extend lessons with homework or supplementary practice

Types of lesson activities

Off2Class lessons use a wide range of activity types designed to support different language skills and learning outcomes.

Activity types may include:

  • multiple-choice questions
  • matching activities
  • true-or-false tasks
  • fill-in-the-blank exercises
  • sentence-building practice
  • ordering and sequencing tasks
  • comprehension questions
  • pronunciation and speaking prompts
  • guided conversations
  • role-plays and dialogues
  • writing tasks
  • debates, reports, and email-writing activities

Many lessons combine receptive activities (reading and listening) with productive activities (speaking and writing) to encourage active language use throughout the lesson.

The activity types used vary depending on the lesson focus, level, and course category.

Lesson organization and progression

The Off2Class lesson library is organized by:

  • level
  • skill area
  • course type
  • topic

Teachers can teach lessons individually or use structured learning paths such as:

  • taught in live classes
  • reused across multiple students or classes
