Overview

Student Handouts are designed to extend learning beyond the lesson screen. They provide students with structured opportunities to practice, review, and consolidate what they’ve learned in class. Whether used during a lesson or assigned as homework, Student Handouts help reinforce key language concepts in a clear and accessible way.

Student Handouts are especially useful for giving students additional writing practice, encouraging review between lessons, and supporting learners who benefit from working offline or at a slower pace. They also allow teachers to differentiate instruction by assigning extra support or extension activities as needed.

Student Handouts help make learning more flexible and effective. Teachers can easily provide extra practice without needing to create additional materials from scratch, saving time while supporting student progress.

Choosing when to use Student Handouts depends on your teaching goals and classroom context. Here are three popular ways teachers use them:

  • During class: Use Student Handouts alongside the lesson to give students guided practice. This can be helpful for reinforcing new concepts or giving students more time to process what they are learning.
  • After class: Assign Student Handouts as additional homework to review and consolidate learning. This helps students retain new language and come prepared for the next lesson.
  • For differentiation: Provide Student Handouts to students who need extra support or additional challenges. This allows you to tailor learning to different levels within the same class.

You can print the Student Handouts for in-person classes or share them digitally for online learning environments.
